Lexington’s Kitano Collection Offers a New Approach to Elegant Contemporary Design
HIGH POINT, NC – Perhaps the most appealing aspect of contemporary design lies in its capacity for continuous evolution – defying convention, embracing new ideas and focusing on how consumers aspire to live and entertain. In what can best be described as a fresh reinvention of elegant contemporary styling, Lexington announces the introduction of the Kitano collection, set to debut at the High Point Market, October 13-18, 2017 in the main Lexington showroom located at 1300 National Highway.
“There seems to be a dichotomy in today’s contemporary design, where styling is either glitzy and extravagant or casual and discreet,” said Phil Haney, President and CEO of Lexington Home Brands. “We have a strong belief that our consumers are looking for interior design that makes a statement without shouting too loudly. This proposition led us to a design perspective that blends the warmth and elegance of Zebrano veneers with the modern sophistication of brushed stainless steel. Subtle angles define the silhouettes, a rich finish highlights horizontal grain lines, and correlated upholstery offers beautifully articulated tailoring. This collection conveys a comfortable, fashionable and understatedly elegant approach to contemporary living.”
Designs in Kitano are crafted from exotic Zebrano, known for its strong horizontal grain lines and distinctive shading. Exceptional veneer selection is the foundation for any fine furniture finish, and Zebrano offers a remarkable contemporary look. What makes this collection entirely unique is the intentional way the finish offers a counterpoint to the design and materials. While brushed stainless bases and angular lines speak to chic contemporary styling, the warmth, depth and richness of the finish on Zebrano softens that edge. The resulting design aesthetic conveys a sophisticated look of understated elegance and embodies a fresh new direction in high-end contemporary design.
Distinctive fabric and leather upholstery designs in Kitano complement the furniture portfolio, boasting clean architectural lines and exceptional tailoring. A signature frame, the Emilia sofa, is a sleek tuxedo design with contemporary tufting on the seat and back, and extraordinary seating comfort. The Amani chair, also shown in the press images, features strong angular lines with a stainless base and open back. Fabrics in the collection feature a palette of bronze, gray, cream and warm neutrals. Patterns include transitional and bold geometrics, embroideries, hints of metallic, linear patterns and landscaped textures.
A great room embodies equal measures of comfort, sophistication and style. Kitano delivers on each promise, with an inspired take on today’s contemporary living. The collection will make its debut at the High Point Market, October 13-18, 2017 in the Lexington Home Brands Showroom located at 1300 National Highway.
Complimentary parking is available on the showroom campus and lunch is served daily. Private transportation departs every ten minutes from the new Lexington Design Studio in downtown High Point to the main showroom, operating daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm or until the last guest is accommodated.
